Meet the Board
Kat Davila
President
Kat is the current President of RDS and one of our student teachers! She teaches Ballroom Level 1 alongside Julian every Monday and Wednesday. Her favorite dances are all the Latin styles and she is currently studying art and kinesiology.
Yannik Cadin
Vice President
Meet Yannik – the Vice President and Latin student instructor for RDS! He’s currently majoring in Entertainment Engineering and Design and is in the Honors College. His favorite dance is Samba and he loves all things Pokemon and anime related.
Julian Zamaro
Treasurer
Julian is our current Treasurer and Standard student instructor! He started dancing 4 years ago and has since transitioned his skills to the ballroom. He’s studying Business Administration in Marketing and Management.
Moani Ackbar
Secretary
Moani is the RDS Secretary! She is studying film at UNLV and loves going out to experience Vegas. She’s always up for trying a new restaurant, event, or experience! Fun fact: Moani is from Texas and catches a flight home every chance she can!
Brian Corpus
Keeper of the Keys
Brian was one of the original members of RDS and has been helping run the club ever since! His favorite dance is Samba and he works as a civil engineer. He currently holds the keys to our storage unit and is one of our main competitors competing in all five competitive styles!
Kendyl Groth
Social Media/Marketing
Kendyl is the social media and marketing extraordinaire! Our social media posts, outreach coordination, and marketing are handled by her. She starting ballet and other dance styles when she was three and joined RDS in Fall 2023. Her favorite dance is tango!
Yuni Jho
CDA Liaison
Yuni is also one of our original team members having been on the Rebel DanceSport team! Now, she is our official CDA Liason where she helps coordinate and inform members for our competitions. She loves Samba, Bachata and Tango. Fun fact – she’s double jointed!
Zen Guanco
Student Instructor
Zen is one of our talented student instructors, teaching Latin alongside Yannik. Her favorite dance is the rumba, and she is currently pursuing a nursing degree. A fun fact about Zen: she was born in the Philippines and enjoys hiking and spending time outdoors during her free time.
What We Do
The board of Rebel DanceSport (RDS) is made up of students and alumni, working together to create a welcoming and inclusive environment for all dancers, regardless of skill level. The elective board, composed entirely of students, handles the day-to-day operations of the club, organizing classes, social events, and the highly anticipated competition each November. The advisory board, which includes a few alumni, provides valuable guidance and insight, helping to ensure the long-term success of the club. Rooted in the values of teamwork, personal growth, competition, and communication, RDS fosters a strong sense of community where dancers can grow, compete, and most importantly, connect with others who share a passion for dance. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced dancer, RDS is a family that truly embraces everyone.
